Frequently Asked Questions

  1.  Who is Acquaint for?

    • Anyone can join Acquaint. The most common reasons people join are:

      • Belief in our mission of bringing the world together by connecting people across all walks of life

      • Wanting to connect with someone different from ourselves

      • Belief in the power of positive, real conversations to connect the world in a way that social media cannot

      • Interest in meeting new people

      • Wanting to learn about new places and topics

      • Wanting to share stories and memories, and to hear other people's stories and memories

  2. What is expected of members?

    • In order for our community to function, every member must show up on time for scheduled tours and be friendly and respectful to their tour partner. Try to learn something about them and leave them feeling a little bit better than they did before they connected with you!​

  3.  Are there any age restrictions? 

    • Members under the age of 14 must have a parent or guardian present while participating in tours, and are not permitted to sign up with their personal contact info. Conductors must be age 14 or older.

  4.  How long does any given tour typically last? 

    • Tours average 15 - 60 minutes.

  5. Does your program require an internet connection?

    • Yes. It's usually okay if you don't have a fast internet connection. Hotspots tend to work fine. 

  6. What locations does your program serve?

    • Currently our program is available to anyone located in the United States and some countries outside the US.

  7. What are your rules regarding volunteer/community service hours?

    • All members, including both conductors and paying members, are considered volunteers. Therefore, anyone who participates in our virtual experiences is eligible for community service credit.​
