Frequently Asked Questions

  1.  Who is HomeAgain VR for?

    • Anyone can join HomeAgain VR. The most common reasons people join are:

      • Belief in our mission of building a community to overcome social isolation and division​

      • Belief in the power of positive, real conversations to connect the world in a way that social media cannot

      • Interest in talking to more people

      • Interest in making friends or expanding one's social community

      • Wanting to learn about new places and topics

      • Wanting to share stories and memories, and to hear other people's stories and memories

  2. What is expected of members?

    • In order for our community to function, every member must show up on time for scheduled tours and be friendly and respectful to their tour partner. Try to learn something about them and leave them feeling a little bit better than they did before they connected with you!​

  3. Do I need a VR headset to participate?

    • No. While our program is compatible with VR headsets, most of our users currently connect via tablets  or laptops.

  4.  Are there any age restrictions? 

    • Members under the age of 14 must have a parent or guardian present while participating in tours, and are not permitted to sign up with their personal contact info. Conductors must be age 14 or older.

  5.  How long does any given tour typically last? 

    • Tours average 15 - 60 minutes.

  6. Does your program require an internet connection?

    • Yes. It's usually okay if you don't have a fast internet connection. Hotspots tend to work fine. 

  7. What locations does your program serve?

    • Currently our program is available to anyone located in the United States.

  8. What are your rules regarding volunteer/community service hours?

    • All members, including both conductors and paying members, are considered volunteers. Therefore, anyone who participates in our virtual experiences is eligible for community service credit.​
